Application

APPLICATION HAS NOW BEEN CLOSED

For the competitive series

An international application panel will choose 9 best female candidates and 4 best male candidates for the advanced series on the basis of choreographed or freestyled video clips. The final number of finalists will be decided upon reviewing all the applications. We would be happy to have the candidates’ application videos published to the general audience via the Pole Art YouTube Channel, but this is entirely optional: you can also choose to keep your video private and only viewed by the evaluation panel.

The routine on the video must be 2-4 minutes long and continuous (one song, one choreographed / freestyled take, no editing or combining several clips together). The style of the routine is free but it must include the following:

  1. Strength moves: holding pole with hands only (for instance: aysha, straight edge, handspring, full flag, etc)
  2. Flexibility moves: can be on pole, on floor or completely aerial. Could display back or leg flexibility, not necessarily both.
  3. Spin combinations: on static or spinning pole.
  4. Floor work, dance, artistic expression or similar: any movement with feet or other body parts touching the floor. Can touch pole too. Simple walking not enough.

Extra points can be achieved by original and dynamic moves such as making a normally static pose move (for instance: spinning superman on a static pole) or starting from a static pose and making it spin (for instance: handstand to spinning dismount), or by simply combining different tempos such as fast/slow/accelerating/complete stop.

Deadline

All applications must be submitted between March 10th and June 10th. Finalists will be announced by July 1st.
